Taylor Momsen has had experiences she believes “would f**k anyone up”. Taylor Momsen, the 17-year-old star claims many of the controversial lyrics featured on her band Pretty Reckless’ debut album ‘Light Me Up’ stem from situations she has experienced first hand. When asked about the inspirations for her music, Taylor told Spin magazine: “I’m not really sure how to answer properly yet. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences, and whether that’s from sex or drugs or something else, they are adult experiences that would f**k anyone up.” Despite her claims, the singer-and-actress is adamant she won’t go off the rails like so many other young starlets. She added: “I’m not a drug addict, a crazy f***ing psycho who’s gonna end up in the gutter next week, or a rebel. “I’m figuring out who I am and what I want to be doing.” Taylor also claims working on TV drama ‘Gossip Girl’ left her feeling “drained” but her music has brought back her enthusiasm for life. Taylor Momsen happily wears the tag of ‘Junior Courtney Love’. The Gossip Girl star and lead singer for rock band The Pretty Reckless has drawn comparisons with the Hole front woman’s style and music thanks to her grunge look. The 17-year-old told Interview magazine ‘The public decided that for themselves, but I’m not going to complain, because she is great,’ the teen star declared. Asked where she shopped, Momsen revealed, ‘Stripper stores mainly, especially for shoes. ‘ Momsen told Interview magazine that it was a challenge for fans of the hit TV show to accept her as rock performer. ‘I’ve been singing and writing songs my whole life, but people didn’t know that. Taylor Momsen looks “awesome” in the advertising campaign for Madonna’s Material Girl line, according to Lourdes Leon. Madonna’s 13-year-old helped her singer mother design the clothing collection, which is aimed at young girls. She is fiercely proud of the work she has put into it, and thinks Taylor was the perfect choice to front the collection. “Material Girl launched last week, YES? YES? Taylor Momsen says Madonna is a “normal person”. The actress-and-singer is the face of the pop superstar’s clothing label Material Girl and she insists when she first met Madonna she was nothing like the difficult diva she is often portrayed as. Referring to the ‘Celebration’ singer’s 13-year-old daughter Lourdes – who Madonna worked on the range with – by her pet name, Taylor said: “Lola had been all day working with me and then Madonna came in. She shook my hand and was just so normal. People forget that, she’s just a normal person and she was very polite and nice.” Taylor is struggling to accept her status as a fashion icon, and admits she is also finding it tough to get to grips with English clothes. Actress/singer Taylor Momsen is making amends with Rihanna after reportedly slamming her for wearing leather jackets, insisting she didn’t mean to insult the pop star. The “Gossip Girl” actress hit the headlines after discussing the Umbrella hitmaker’s edgy fashion choice during a conversation about the differences between hard rock and chart-topping tracks. She was quoted as saying, “People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna’s wearing f**king leather jackets, and it’s really annoying.” But the 17 year old is adamant she never meant to cause offense to the Rihanna. Momsen tells Britain’s T4, “First of all I’d like to say that quote was spun… it’s a misquote. I was arguing the difference between rock versus pop and it’s a very pop-oriented world at the moment. There is no rock and the people who dress or have guitars in their music… (for) audiences that’s the closest thing they have to rock right now. “We’re looking to bring back a real rock band and Rihanna – I wasn’t insulting Rihanna. Taylor Momsen took the opportunity to cover two songs in one at a recent visit to BBC Radio 1′s Live Lounge. The frontwoman for Pretty Reckless combined ‘Love the Way You Lie’ and ‘Islands’. Listen to the song combo and see if you like Taylor’s take. As for the song selection, it still kind of sounds like two completely different songs, although Taylor tried to make it one. It just doesn’t flow as nicely as it should. It’s interesting that she chose a Rihanna song since she was caught insulting the Barbadian beauty’s attire. Taylor says it was a misquote, but we think she was just showing how much of a ‘real’ rock star she is. She normally insults pop star Miley Cyrus, but she somehow found time to rip Rihanna, too. The XX seem to be pretty popular lately in the world of covers. Shakira recently sang ‘Islands’ and renamed it ‘Explore’ at the world famous Glastonbury. It was risk, but her cover wasn’t bad either. Singer-and-actress Taylor Momsen had to be helped across the grass before performing an acoustic set at Virgin Media’s Louder Lounger as she struggled to walk in her high heels. The 17-year-old singer-and-actress was struggling to walk in her huge high heels in the exclusive area of the V Festival in Chelmsford, Essex, so enlisted the help of two male friends to give her some support as she tried to negotiate the uneven surface. “At first we thought she wasn’t very well as she had both her arms draped across her friends and was struggling to walk. But as soon she got into the tent with its wooden floor, she was able to walk on her own. It was quite funny to watch,” an onlooker said. As well as Gossip Girl star Momsen, other guests in Virgin Media’s Louder Lounge included Drew Barrymore and on/off boyfriend Justin Long, who enjoyed a game of table tennis with one of his friends, actress Billie Piper, TV presenter Holly Willoughby and Coleen Rooney, wife of England football star Wayne Rooney.
