Joanie in Utah: So what’s the deal? Chuck and his new girl have been kissing all over Paris, but where are Blair and Serena, and why aren’t she and Chuck still apart?
Ahhh, Gossip Girl and the games they play. First, let us remind you that we should all be rejoicing! Chuck Bass is alive and well after that near-fatal finale. He is seriously rockin’ that cane too, might we add. Now here’s what we can tell you: The bulk of what’s getting out on the interwebs from Gossip Girl’s shoot in Paris is mainly Chuck and his new gal-pal, and Blair and Serena pushing each other into fountains. But we have it on good authority that B and C will in fact reunite in the City of Light; there are some discussions to be had. Don’t expect the two to head back to NYC all lovey-dovey, but maybe, just maybe Blair will begin to forgive Chuck for his Jenny-wandering ways.

Megan in South Carolina: Any Gossip Girl fun to pass along?
Looksie at what we found! Daddy-to-be Dan (Penn Badgley) and his apparently back from Haiti girlfriend Vanessa (Jessica Szhor) aren’t taking this potential parenthood thing lightly. After learning he’s going to have a little bundle of joy with that big bundle of joy Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) in the finale, D and V were spotted pushing around a stroller (containing a fake baby—practice makes perfect, right?!) in New York this week. But it’s nice to see these two looking happy, no?

Megan in Wrightwood, Calif.: Is Georgina really, truly pregnant on Gossip Girl or is she faking it?
Yessirree. Michelle Trachtenberg told us this when asked that very Q: “Yes, and I’m trying to spread the rumor that I actually was pregnant so that everybody could start talking about how great I look after the baby. I really shed the weight.” Damn. Wish I’d gotten the memo that make-believe TV pregnancies were less fattening!

It’s the recent cry of many of you Little J-loving Gossip Girl fans, who feel we’ve been treating the Upper East Side’s new queen unfairly in recent weeks, calling her the H-word and hinting that she may trying to steal Nate (Chace Crawford) away from Serena (Blake Lively).

Sorry! When I interviewed Gossip Girl bosses Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Josh joked of the H-word: “We think the word speaks for itself, Kristin.” And so, I promise to stop using it…Um, after this one last time, because now, I’m hearing there is very good cause, and it has to do with those rumors that a certain Gossip Girl star is leaving the show.

Marissa in Boise, Idaho: You’ve gotta stop it with the “Jenny is a homewrecker” stuff.
So sorry, but as I hinted above, Jenny is indeed about to meddle, and I’m not referring to Nate and Serena. I’m actually talking about her dad, Rufus, and stepmom, Lily. I’m hearing that Little J is going to try to do some bad things to their relationship, and then…yes, she’s going away. But the good news for you Jenny fans (finally!) is that contrary to some rumors you may have heard, she is not dying. I’m told Taylor Momsen will be back in season four. At least, that’s the plan.

A source close to the CW soap confirms that the actress will be absent for an unspecified number of episodes at the beginning of next season for “creative” reasons.

“When you watch the finale,” the insider adds, “you’ll see that we’re doing something very big with her character.”

Congratulations on the engagement.
ZS: [Laughs] Thank you! I’m really excited about it. I think [next week's hour] is going to be a great episode. Basically, it results in this huge, gorgeous kind of Russian-Polish hybrid of a wedding at the Astoria World Manor, which is made fabulous, “Gossip Girl” style. It’s actually a big event and for Dorota it’s an opportunity to don a glamorous gown. It’s certainly a family affair with Blair as a bridesmaid and Cyrus and Eleanor in attendance. It brings everyone together for these major festivities.

All our favorite Upper East-siders have been invited?
ZS: Oh yeah. There’s a lot of action against the backdrop of the wedding and everyone’s involved, basically.

Dorota is always doing favors for Blair and getting her out of bad situations. Is this Blair’s chance to pay Dorota back?
ZS: There would be no wedding without Blair and Chuck and, for once, they’re kind of scrambling around on her behalf.

In the last episode, we saw what seemed to be a Chuck and Blair breakup. We have to assume that the aftermath of that drama will surrounding the wedding, yes?
ZS: Well, I think, you know, there were some very bad things that happened last Monday, but I’m with Dorota in that we both have a lot of hope for Chuck and Blair to work things out and we love the Chuck-Blair dynamic.

So Dorota is staying on Team Chuck.
ZS: [Laughs] Yeah, Dorota is always primarily Team Blair, whatever makes Blair happy, and I know that she really likes them together.

Of course, Dorota has a kid of her own coming now. Will we get to watch her go into labor and do the whole delivery thing?
ZS: [Laughs] We’ll have to wait and see on that one, but you definitely get a [good look at] the baby bump in the wedding gown, so the baby is there and is a big part of the ceremony. It’s amazing because Dorota gets to wear this gorgeous wedding dress which is a collaboration between Eleanor and Jenny Humphrey that puts the [pregnancy on display] in full regalia.

Do you think the baby will ultimately change Dorota’s role in Blair’s life?
ZS: I don’t know, I think Dorota has a lot of maternal instincts and I think the baby will just pump up her level of love and giving. There’s still plenty of room for Miss Blair.

I also wanted to say that I think it’s really cool that Miss Blair — also known as Leighton Meester — has this amazing singing career as well and on Monday, we’ll be treated to one of her singles that’s going to be included in the episode. “Your Love’s A Drug” will be part of the show and I can’t wait to see how it’s incorporated. There are so many surprises and so many beautiful details in the wedding, it’s really exciting.

You got it. So, when I asked the Gossip Girl bosses if Jenny and Nate have moved past their platonic, brother-sister relationship, Josh told me: “I think one of them may feel that way.” Zinga! I’m guessing that’s Jenny. You? Stephanie simply gave this little tease: “We do have a really fun story coming up in this last run of episodes moving toward the finale.” Fun for who? I’m thinking not fun for Serena!

Ginny in Texas: Am I the only fan rooting for Vanessa and Rufus?! They have mad chemistry.
Ew. And yes! Josh Schwartz has this to say: “We understand there are all kinds of fans, Nate-Serena fans, Dan-Serena fans, and even Vanessa-Rufus fans, but we want everybody to know that they are talked about in the writer’s room all the time, except for the Vanessa-Rufus fans. They’re the only ones we can tell you are barking up the wrong tree.” Ha!

See, although you may have heard rumblings about how tragic things may get in upcoming episodes of the CW show—starting with what appears to be a haunting, Indecent Proposal-esque episode tonight—Schwartz and Savage tell me exclusively that fans should not give up hope on Chuck and Blair:

“The thing that fans should know that hopefully is reassuring,” Josh explains, “is that Chuck and Blair are always top of mind to me and Stephanie, to the writers. There’s been a long-term plan in place since the beginning of the show about them as a couple, and Chuck and Blair will always be top of mind.”

You hear that? Top of mind. As in, tippy top. As in, above and before all else when it comes to the show. I know what you “Chair” fans are thinking: “That’s a pretty awesome present, Josh, and I didn’t even get you anything!” May I suggest a little faith, with a side of patience? ‘Cause after talking to Josh and Stephanie, it does seem warranted.

“A lot of times on shows like these,” Josh says, “fans live and die week to week in terms of what happens with their favorite couples. Obviously if they only stay together and are happy, people will complain, and if they’re fighting, people will, too. You’re always caught a little bit in a catch 22. But we are fans of Chuck and Blair, and we have a plan.”

That plan includes keeping Chuck and Blair as one of the show’s longer-term power connections. “Narratively, Chuck and Blair have been the most sustained couple we’ve had on the show. Many other couples have come and gone in the time that Chuck and Blair and their romance has been in the forefront, and the driving edge of other stories.”

“Chuck and Blair have been there since the first episode,” Stephanie says. “You see them come together in the very end of the pilot, the second-to-last scene before the coda, and you feel the electricity of these two minds meeting and about to embark on a scheme together. We got them together in episode seven and we’ve really been telling that story since then.”

So perhaps it’s time for a smidge of a shakeup? Mayhaps?
